We just returned from a visit to Germany. Here's a shot of a gas station in Munich:

These prices are in Euros, and they're for a liter. Translation?

Super (95 octane) equates to $7.286 per gallon

Racing (100 octane) equates to $8.175 per gallon.

To put this in perspective, the current average price for premium (93 octane) in Illinois is $5.89 per gallon. I'd be drinking more beer if I had to pay those prices, too!

Gas prices in Germany (actually all of Europe) have always been roughly twice the U.S. prices. Spent a bunch of time there on business. Was in Texas last week and prices for regular now under $4.00 a gallon. Hope on the horizon for the rest of us?

$4.89 for 93 octane premium down here in SWFL. Regular is $4.19. Taxes are high in IL.

Yep, $9/gallon (adjusted for gallon size too) in UK last month.

Today we're at 3.80 in Austin.. Better..

Yup, been that way for as long as I can remember in Europe. We just got back from a trip to Greece and Italy. It cost over 200 euros to fill the tank on the car we rented.

Yep routinely seeing as low as $3.86/gallon in the DFW area. Never thought I would < $4 gas again under the current administration I hope it sticks.

I find it interesting that it’s in English and not German!
