Anyone use digital dawg for the rfid? Looking at the one for “hot rods”, and it looks a little more trustworthy than the $20 Amazon kits.
Thanks

Yes, I installed one in my roadster build. It's a relatively easy and straightforward install if you're comfortable with wiring. My car is still being painted, so no real street experience with it yet, but so far it has worked fine for me. I know EdwardB has one in his coupe build and has a few seasons of driving experience with it, so he can give a lot more real-world input on it.

I have the motorcycle one which is different from what you would want to use and is just a starter relay disconnect, but it seems the RFID part is the same. It works for me, never had it not recognize or any BS like that.

As mentioned, I have the DGD PBS-I in my Coupe. In its third driving season. I'm happy with it. Not cheap, but clearly very solidly built and works as advertised. I didn't find anything comparable. Easy enough to install. Has a couple extra wires (e.g. one to the brake switch) but basically just replaces a standard ignition switch. I had a minor hiccup with mine early on when the emergency code they provide didn't work. I sent the module back for a re-flash, but they ended up sending me a brand new module.
My only slight quibble, and IMO not necessarily surprising, is the automatic RF function. DD's with keyless ignition are carefully tuned to the vehicle and the range is controlled to the immediate vehicle distance. Being a more universal system, the DGD setup is less discriminating. For mine, if the keyfob is in the garage or even close inside the house, the system will disarm. For car shows and events where I'm never far from the car, the system doesn't automatically arm because it senses the keyfob. It's a simple enough solution. The system has a second "manual" mode which requires a button push on the keyfob to disarm. I use it in that mode and all is good. It automatically arms in that mode after shutdown. Plus saves battery life on the keyfobs. Hope that explanation makes sense. The DGD instructions explain it better. https://www.digitalguarddawg.com/wp-content/themes/todcan-BS2/downloads/PBS%20I%20e-MANUAL%203.16F.pdf

It's a nice custom option, easy to install and works well.
