Just checking the pulse on this as I know Wilwood is running way behind. I ordered my kit in August 2021 and I still don't have my Wilwood brakes. Is everyone else who ordered o/a this time also waiting on their Wilwoods?

I requested an update from FF on my Wilwood delivery and as told new and existing orders are scheduled for October.

I ordered my kit in September and I remember everyone talking about the delays with Willwood. I decided to order from Forte who got me them in a few weeks. I think he had some in stock at the time.

Guess I gotta get in line. Just picked up my kit last week, and forgot about the posts regarding wilwood delays. I think I can keep busy with other stuff until October.

I may be overestimating my progress, but I think I'm running out of runway if those won't ship until October. I guess I'll find out. The BPE engine/transmission will likely arrive in September and I was hoping to have the car on the ground before those arrive. Adapt and overcome.

Update : Just heard from FFR that all back ordered wilwoods are now pencilled for November.

I bought my 8.8" rear end from Forte with Wilwood brakes and he had them in stock. I built my own front Wilwood brakes from Summit, all in stock. Maybe for once my timing was lucky.

Give Gordan Levy a call. He got me brakes in a week when the delays were 5 months. Nothing like what you guys are dealing with but definitely worth a shot.

My kit was DELIVERED in September of 2021. FedEx proceeded to lose the Wilwood front brake kit and I have yet to see a replacement.

That is terrible. It makes my chest hurt just hearing that.

THIS^^ thanks so much for the tip. Called Gordon Levy and he can have a set of front and rear to me in approx two weeks. Called FFR, deleted these from the order and got a credit; they understood and were totally reasonable about giving me a refund. Would recommend anyone else in a similar situation who are blocked to do the same.

I ordered Brakes all around from Gordon in March and the fronts will be shipping this week (4-5 month lead time) and he still waiting on the rears to show up. Glad you guys getting them so quickly and I'm now at the point I am ready for them...not sure I'm using the same kit as you....But he had shocks available immediately. To his credit I wasn't in a rush due to the delay in the actual kits showing up, and now he's getting them out to me...

Mike Forte also had a lot of stuff in stock when I went and visited him...I think both of them are very proactive in having the parts most of us use most of the time. My engine guy couldn't find a couple things and Mike had them in stock and I had them a day later. Can't hurt to ping both of them, both fantastic to work with.

Also ordered mine in August 2021, received kit 3/13/2022. Sent an email to Wilwood about delivery. Was told October 2022. Does anyone know the Wilwood part numbers for the front brakes and the IRS rear brakes? Thought about trying to find them from a distributor.

These are the fronts

140-12048

You will need to research the rears. I can find the kit number that goes to the IRS but not necessarily the ebrake. Hopefully someone else knows.

140-15138 (D, R, DR, depending on preference) gets you the IRS rear kit. Which if you order from Summit is expected September 12 2022. Benefit to not ordering through FFR is you can get it without drilled rotors

I suspect Gordon Levy can get these too.

I called Wilwood for an update. I'm waiting on the 12.88" set (front and IRS rear). They said the fronts are available now, and the rears are about 3 weeks out. I'm assuming they will hold and ship the full order together.

So, you just got your kit and already getting the brakes in three weeks? When you called them, did you just tell them you ordered through ffr? I picked up my kit in July, and was just told they'd ship direct from the vendor, but wasn't given any additional information.

Thanks

I was told the same by FFR, but called Wilwood directly to inquire about availability of those particular part #s and see if I could get an ETA. I told them I ordered through FFR but the guy didn't seem interested in that detail, which I interpreted to mean that it didn't matter how they were ordered, that 3 weeks was the timeframe. We shall see. Hopefully if anyone receives any drop-shipped Wilwood brakes in the near future they will post here and let us know.

I ordered the rear kit from Jegs.com two days ago, today Jegs told me they would arrive by 10/20 (shipping direct from Wilwood), just under three weeks.

This car sits very low to the ground, when I put my engine/trans in I pulled the frame off my dolly and rolled it in and out of the garage. I figured I would finish it while it sat on the tires but it didnt take very long for me to get tired of working on my knees and bending over before I put it up on jack stands.

BTW - I received my kit October 21 and my brakes showed up a couple weeks apart in April/May time frame.

I ordered my kit in August of ‘21, received my kit mid-March ‘22, and the Wilwoods arrived in August of ‘22. Car is on the on the ground most of the time, but I have it up on jack stands when needed. Still waiting on carpet, but the delay isn’t holding me up yet. Maybe I should change this to a carpet delivery thread.
