I’ve been having problems with my gas gauge not reading correctly and at times going crazy up and down . The first sending unit that came with the kit rotted away and the float fell off. The second one I got from summit worked once then started going crazy I think I replaced the original one with a 155 ohm unit but I’m not sure. I think it’s a fox body gas tank and I’m running a in tank fuel pump and the upgraded vintage dash cluster. My son in law is telling when it comes to electrical to go with a oem unit . But which one? Thanks in advance. Rob

Yes it's a Fox body Mustang tank. In tank fuel pump doesn't matter because the sender and fuel pump are at different locations on the tank. The vintage gauges are Speedhut, right? A very important point as those are configurable to whatever ohm range sender you install. My truck, for example, has Autometer gauges. The fuel gauge has a preset ohm range so it's critical to match the two. Yours, assuming it's Speedhut, can be changed using their calibration instructions. The OE Fox body sender appears to be part number E7ZZ9275A. Looks like originally came from Dephi? Those are available plus also widely from Dorman. Stock ohm range is 16 ohms empty, 158 ohms full.

Thank you Paul. It could be the vintage cluster I need to adjust. I knew I could count on you for the proper answer .
