I am ~2.5 months from delivery of my MK4 complete kit. While I frequently read the forums to gather knowledge, it is a serious embarrassment of riches all of the excellent information and experience on here.

So I was hoping to hear from some expert builders, AND some recent builders with graduated or nearly finished cars who were novices before this current build: What are your TOP 3 roadster build threads?

Which ones should be my bibles? Which ones helped you to avoid the most mistakes, and contain the best explanations and images of critical steps, or different/better approaches, that are perhaps not as well explained in the manual? Thanks!!

Hi Alec,
That is easy, all of Edward B's (aka Paul) Posts.
Heck, he answered questions for me (remotely)before I even knew I had them....
Amazingly helpful. Oh, Thanks Paul :>) Long overdue.....

I’m a long way from “novice” but have to say that the threads of “Papa” Dave and “edwardb” Paul are by far the most comprehensive.

Agree with the above
1. edwardb of course. The most iconic build threads out there. They should be a supplemental to the build manual and Paul should get royalties.
2. Papa. His build was very similar to mine and his pictorial documentation and clarity of process is the strong point of his thread. I stalked his thread SOOOOOO much.
3. Fman. I loved his thread. He approaches issues like me and has given me great ideas for add ons that I would not have thought of. He has also become a good friend :)

Honorable mentions: Not build threads but walking encyclopedias on this forum which make this resource the best I have ever seen . They are kind, thoughtful and honestly want you to have success.
1. Jeff Kleiner. Need I say more. The dude is an artist with the body work and paint AND he could put one of these together with his eyes closed. Very willing to help with any issue and get you back on track. I am in gratitude to him more than he even knows.
2. rich grsc. He is no nonsense but really wants to help you. I have found his info spot on and has been crucial in a couple of areas of my build.
3. CraigS. Always quick to respond with accurate info and amazing experience. Friendly with his responses but you can tell he has a ton of knowledge at the ready.
4. Obviously michael everson. He has forgot more roadsters that he has built than anyone else has actually built. When he speaks...listen.
5. i.e.427. The dude has amazing skills and his youtube page is just great. I liked to reference his videos.
6. GodadGo..AKA Steve. Such a kind person and the page cheerleader. You feeling overwhelmed????? Down???? Steve is there to pick you up dust off your knees and get you back on track. He was the first to reach out to me and I am lucky to call him my friend :)
7. NAZ..... His knowledge base regarding mechanics and racing are staggering. When he types.... take head. Folks like him are far and few between.
8. Finally... J R Jones. I admit he is over my head regarding the engineering but what a wealth of knowledge on the site.

These are just a few folks that have helped me and I am sure I am leaving A LOT out. And for that I apologize. Anyway hope that helps the new folks on the site :)
