Order Lead Time

Happy Thursday, folks!

I posed this question nearly a year ago, and heard that lead times were ~6 months from order to shipment. Is it getting any better? I'm not in any hurry, but if I ordered a MkIV complete kit soon, when could I expect it? I know I can call F5 and ask them, but thought I'd ask the group about recent experiences from buyers.

9-10-11 months. Depending on the model. No, it's not getting better.

9 months was the farthest their system would allow to push the delivery date out on my Speedstar kit.

Bummer. Oh well...I get it. I'll just keep planning and saving pennies, and pull the trigger in a few months. It's worth the wait!

Not working as a salesperson for FFR (haven't seen a commission check yet... :p) but I assume you know it only costs a $1K deposit to place an order and secure your place in line. Refund policy is pretty generous as I recall. Full payment on the kit isn't due until a couple of weeks before delivery. All explained on their website.

Not to overstate the obvious but the longer you wait the longer you’re going to have to wait. FFR has been experiencing a sales boom (even after raising prices) and it doesn’t look like that’s gonna’ change anytime soon.

Ordered a Daytona Coupe around the 1st of June and got a late January complete date, but like others have said it varies by model. I agree with EdwardB/Paul. Deposit is $1000 and they only keep $250 if you cancel at least 10 days before the completion date. I figured it was worth it to get in line and it's likely prices will continue to rise just like everything. If I change my mind, I'm only out $250.
