anyone know of a good fabric place to find the diamond stitch material?

"Diamond stitch material" is unlikely to be found.

The stitching is usually done by an upholster, in any fabric that you want.

You can find it sold in yardage (probably limited) on Amazon and possibly other places but will be limited in colors and diamond size

I love diamond stitching on upholstery. Here is a variation of typical diamond stitching that my BMW seats have that I really like as an accent along with the contrast thread color and piping.

Any upholstery shop can make the inserts you want. Just show them a picture and pick the material and colors.

there's actually a TON of that on Amazon, Alibaba, Etsy, etc.
finding a quick match has been tough

Depending on what you want it for, checkout redlinegoods. I had them make a shifter boot, e-brake boot, and pads for the shoulder straps. Very please with their work. They will make your piece to your exact specifications. Many stitch styles, almost any color and type of material, piping, you name it, they seem to be able to do it.

I wanted some for the center console. Went to several upholstery shops with no luck. I talked to Dave Smith and he ordered it from England. Spent several hundred, but exact match.
