My coupe kit is on order for an October delivery. I optioned the IRS. I recently bought an entire rear K-Member assembly out of a 2015 GT with the PP (3.73 and Torsen) as a donor. I'm working on prepping all the parts so they are ready to go. I know the kit comes with new CVs and poly bushings for the upper and lower control arms, and toe link at the frame mounting points. However, I didn't see anything about replacing the two lower bushings in the Ford knuckle. One for the LCA attach point and one for the toe link. Mine look serviceable, but not great. Does anyone have any experience replacing the knuckle bushings? Examining the complete bushing kit for a 2015 Mustang from Energy Suspension, it does appear that they can likely be had from the aftermarket.

After more research today I'm part way to an answer. Ford Performance PN M-5A460-M replaces the toe link bushing in the knuckle.

Any idea how to change these?

I'll be re-building my IRS rear by changing all of the rod end-links. I forgot about these.

Thanks,

I used to have a 2015 Mustang (sold it to buy a coupe) and know that Steeda is a great resource for IRS components and technical questions:

https://www.steeda.com/2015-2019-mustang-bushings

Also, Mustang6g has lots of thread and posts on the same topic:

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/

Steeda is also a forum member there so it's easy to reach out to them. Or just give them a call 1 (800) 950-0774.

Hope that helps.

I see online that some folks used a large C-clamp press (which I happen to have) but I can't help but think a hydraulic press, off-car, would be the way to go.

Thanks!

We can make some tooling to drive them out and in. Do it on the aircraft all the time.

I still haven't come up with an answer for the LCA to knuckle bushing. I checked out the Steeda site, BMR, American Muscle, etc.... and all the LCA bushings and/or spherical bearing kits are for the inner LCA to rear K-Member attach points as near as I can tell; nothing for the LCA to knuckle connection.

I finally sorted this one out. Went out and took a closer look at the knuckles. All you need to replace is the toe link bushing, with the aforementioned FRP part. The LCA mounting point has a spherical bearing in it from the factory. It just has a little rubber boot around it, so I didn't look close enough and assumed it was a bushing. Unlike a bushing though, when I shove a bolt through the center of it, I can pivot it around, so definitely NOT a bushing.
