Any idea on what this color is? Saw an article and I think this is the color I want to go with.

I saw that same car online, as well as the other 300SL tribute he built, and also loved the color he chose. I spent quite a while researching it and trying to figure out what color that was. I was never able to quite pin it down, but in the course of researching I came to the conclusion that if that's the direction you want to go in, then you need to be looking at Porsche non-metallic grey colors. If you do a google search on "Porsche non metallic grey" your head will explode at how many different options they have. My local Porsche dealer was very cool and was willing to let me come in and look at their PTS (paint to sample) color chip selection in the dealership. Ultimately, I went in a different direction, but I think you could get pretty darn close to that color by doing this.

Appreciate the idea. Will give Porsche dealership a go.

I never researched paint codes before, but how hard is to replicate a Mercedes DB353, or DB 166 colors? One of these seem to be a close match

If you have a specific code like that, it's not hard to match. I'm doing Mercedes DB180 on my roadster, and Ken Pike was able to get the recipe for it pretty easily.

Just so you know, you can get that color at WalMart. All you have to do is cut and paste that code in your search bar and you'll get all the info you need. Not hard at all
