In the 30years I have been selling Wilwoods I have never had anyone regret the upgrade. There is a huge difference if set up correctly.

It's a HUGE improvement! Huge! Especially if you're racing.

I don't have knowledge of the differences in the two braking systems, but I love my Wilwoods! Especially at autocross. I initially regretted spending that much money on brakes, but not anymore.

Another upgrade option to the GT brakes is the Powerstop kit, you can add 20% stopping power for under $450. I have been very pleased with this package, I have one track day and 3700 miles of street driving and no regrets. The Powerstop kit also looks a little better behind the wheel. I can't comment on the Wilwood performance have never driven a car with them but I would really like to see a comparison/test done between Wilwoods and GT brakes with Powerstop kit in stopping distance. The roadster only weighs in at 2300 lbs on a heavy day, GT brakes were designed for a car that weighs 3600 lbs.

I drove my MK2 with Mustang brakes on the Hillcountry road course with no issues. But I have also driven cars (heavier) with bigger rotors and more pistons on the calipers there is no contest. It really comes down to what you plan to do with the car. If you do autocross or road course it its a worthwhile but expensive upgrade. If you just cruise the car on the street its tough to justify the expense.

The only regret on my build was not doing Wilwood out of the gate. Converted over to Gordon Levy Wilwoods and it's night and day difference.
