I know the Coyote harness has a clutch switch, but do I tie off the RF harness like the instructions?
assuming no harm/interaction since the harnesses are separated

Yes. It's just another switch on the "starter signal" wire. With the coyote that switch is already handled by the coyote cumputer so we erase it from the RF harness by tying the connection so it's always continuous.

The instructions from Factory Five are a little confusing IMO if you don't completely understand what's happening here. First of all, the Coyote harness has its own starter safety switch on the clutch (what these two wires are for) so you don't need/use the one from the RF harness. Second, if you look at the RF harness schematic, there are two blue wires coming off the ignition switch. One labelled LT BLU-EFI CRANK POWER and this is normally connected to the Coyote pigtail Starter Motor Request (SMR) wire. So the second blue wire, labelled LT BLU-IGN SW->NS SW is not used or needed. It can be removed completely (what I do...) or just tied out of the way. Whether it's connected together or not makes no difference because it doesn't do anything.

Full disclosure -- that's assuming you also use the Coyote start wire to the small post on the starter solenoid. Typically installations are wired this way and not sure why you would do it any differently. The FF instructions do say using the Coyote start wire is optional and you could use the blue RF start wire. In that case, the second wire is used and needs to be tied together. So that's probably why the FF instructions say that. But in most (all?) cases it doesn't matter and isn't used.

thanks guys! agreed Paul, the instructions are confusing, but not unexpected when you have 2 separate sets of instructions - one general, and one more specific...

as always, appreciate the guideance!
