I'm not sure what the aversion folks have with starting new threads when there is a pertinent topic that garners enough interest.

Thread jacking may continue on a particular tangential thought, but good luck if you ever need to come back and find it. Anyone ever try to find the needle in the haystack of the 23-page 818 update thread? Pretty much pointless.

The cleaner we try to keep things as far as organization the more powerful this board will be for the actual information and discussions we have toward the development and eventually individual builds of this platform.

I agree, Thread jacking more than new-thread creation is the problem I think is the most frustrating. Early on, before the design competition or Chassis unveiling, all of the threads were about Subaru's and were very detailed and informative. However, over time those threads got hijacked, buried or re-made by folks who couldn't find the original information due to the pages and pages off off-topic discussion.

For example, I've had to re-post answers to various member's concerns about the strength of the front diff on a 5mt 3 times now even though there was a single "Subaru transmission thread" in the beginning that covered just about everything about subie transmissions anyone needed to know. Because individuals would decide to change the thread topic, the real info would get buried and now members are forced to open new threads to get answers because the original threads they are looking for are deserted, have pages and pages of off-topic drabble and it's impossible to identify helpful vs. redundant threads as a result.
