Brought home my GTM kit on Saturday. My son and I made the road trip from Essex Junction, Vermont to Factory Five with a 16’ car trailer pulled by a F150 pickup. Been following the forum(s) for a couple of years now and am continually amazed by the amount and quality of information available. Although it seems my build plan changes every month, the current plan is as follows.

Basic kit from Factory Five including roof scoop, heat/ac, and the FF Forgestar wheels.

I bought a 98 Corvette with 26k miles last December at a CoPart auction. The car was hit in front but the engine still ran. While still in the car, I upgraded the engine by adding a LS6 manifold and a baby EPS cam along with a few other mods/new parts – hopefully it will produce similar power to a LS6 engine. Delivered to my house, the donor cost $5,260 and to date I have sold $8,240 worth of parts and expect to sell another $1,000 worth of parts before I am done.

Bought a low mileage g5020 transmission from another forum member and hope to have 6th gear changed out to allow for a more reasonable cruising rpm. Will likely go with a cable shifter.

Couldn’t resist the group buys on the ISIS and Racelogic systems and have added those items to the build. Expect to soon being taking advantage of some of the great parts offered by Vraptor, Crash, Quick Racing Products, and others. Can’t wait to get started!

Wow, great start. Consider reading up on any problems with the 98 ECU with the idea of swapping it out.

Thanks - I have read about the issues with the 97-98 ECU's and plan on re-pinning my harness and swapping it out with a later model - just one of many things that will add to my budget as I go along.

VTGTM,

I work for IBM and head up to the Junction at least once a quarter. I'd love to stop by next time I am up.
