Trailer adapter wiring

Does anyone have more detail on how to connect the supplied Hopkins trailer adapter into the under dash wiring? The manual is a bit sketchy on that point. I have googled, so if I missed something obvious, my apologies.

I mount the adapter under the trunk which makes wiring much easier
