Hey Guys

Been lurking for a while and finally put my deposit last week on a MK4. I’ve got a while before the kit arrives but will be utilizing this forum a good bit. I thank you in advance and apologize for any questions that may seem repetitive. Google is my best friend and worst enemy…..too much searching just causes more uncertainty many times.

I live in Buford Ga (near Mall of Georgia) and need to see if there are any local builders in the area, I’m sure there are a few.

I built (assembled) a kit plane in early 2000’s as aviation is really my 1st passion. I figured if I could build a plane, the MK4 is not out of reach (I do think the MK4 will require a lot more time).

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome, James.

Curious which plane kit you completed.

Welcome, James.

Curious which plane kit you completed.

It was a 2002 Flight Design (Flight Star SC), a rather easy kit that took just under 300 hours. I have since owned a 2008 EuroFox, 1968 Cherokee 180, and a 2018 Flight Design. Got my instrument in the 180, great platform for IFR training.

After the MK3, I would like to build either a RV10 or something similar.

Hey Delta42, welcome. I'm kinda new myself but have reaped huge benefits from this forum and the luminaries therein.
I live in Big Canoe Georgia, not too far from Buford so we should look at checking each other's builds from time to time.
I recently complete a boat build, now this Roadster so what's next? A plane! I'd love to chat about what you've done in that respect.

I also fly and work on planes (not full time) you should have no issue with this and I had a lot of fun.
