Hi All,

The manual states that when the body is on there should be about 1/2” gap between the top corner of the dash hoop ends and the underside of the body. I can get 1/4” after bending down the ends with an adjustable wrench. Is the 1/4” gap enough? Is there a better way of going about doing this if I really need the 1/2”? I am finishing up my dash and feel I need to have this figured out before making mounting brackets. I did have the weatherstrip in place on the firewall and trunk sides when test fitting, also about 1/4” body placement in front of door striker plates.

Thanks so much for the help, feeling a bit frustrated.

Yep .....there's more to know. If you are using the aluminum dash you need the dash 3/16 lower then the tips of the tube ends. If you are using the plastic pre-covered you can mount it even with the tube ends. The carbon fiber ???? Mount it even with the tubes but be ready to trim the ends of the dash so the body doesn't rest on it....da Bat

Thanks Jeff! I bought the blank dash since I want the comp layout. Trimmed it even with the hoop. Nothing extends above the dash hoop. I am able to push down on the body and get about 1/4” movement before it contacts. Anything else to be concerned about?
