Hey just a heads up make sure the oil filter isn't so tall that it won't fit. I just got the FL500S filter by Ford Motorcraft today and it was too big to fit on the engine. The filter collides with the chassis and cannot be orientated properly. I'm currently building with a gen3 coyote but AFAIK the oil filter locations are identical.

Ask you found out, the stock (and specified by Ford) filter doesn't fit. Not enough room. The low profile filters listed in post #2 will fit. I've been using the Mobil M1-113. Typically available at Walmart for a good price. Some have expressed concern about the smaller size. (1) These filters are used on other brand engines of a similar size, (2) at 10K miles or max one year oil change cycle, most of us have less than 10K per year.

Using a CM-6731-FL820 on a MK4 with a Gen 3 Coyote. This is the Ford Performance filter. It will rock into place on the stud and clears the chassis when snugged up.

I suggest having a strap wrench on hand when it comes time for removal. I bought a filter wrench for the Mobil oil filter (M1-113B), but there's not enough clearance from the 4" tube to get it over the filter.

Agree the 113 is a good filter for the car. Corvettes & Caddy "V" with the 6.2L Corvette engine use this filter.
