I'm looking to make some power steering hoses out of Aeroquip PTFE racing hose. Normally if I make fuel lines I pressure test with AN fittings that let you hook up an air compressor, testing to something like 100psi. When making power steering hose is it necessary to test higher, or is 100psi enough to prove the hose? Obviously on the pressure side of power steering it will well exceed this pressure. I don't have an easy way to pressure test beyond something like 145psi (the max for my compressor). Curious what others have done.
Thanks,
Brandon

P/S pressures can be as high as 1500 psi. I pressure tested them on the car. But I suppose you could go down to your local hose assembler and ask them to do it.

It can be done with a gauge and a small hydraulic pump, like something used for a wood splitter. Be careful as you can build pressure into the 2-3000psi range.

Install them on your car, fire up the engine, and turn the steering wheel fully until it stops and hold there w/ slight pressure for 15 seconds. Test complete.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll be putting these to use shortly.
