Safety Issue ?

I'm working on my '35 truck and when bolting on the steering rack and the peddle box to the chassis the bolts do not come all the way through the nyloc nuts. I was always taught that there should be 2 threads showing for a proper hold. Has anyone else run into this? I am using the right bolts in the right places.

I'd say you were taught well. For the "nyloc" part of a nyloc nut to even work, the bolt has to protrude through it for it to grip.

I'm guessing you've got the incorrect length bolts for that task.
