I just ordered a MK4. I selected the IRS rear suspension. Plan to only drive on the street Is this the best choice?

IRS will definitely give you a smoother ride compared to a solid axle.

This is discussed a lot. Seems every few weeks someone asks the same question. IRS is the more comfortable riding suspension. Does add a bit more cost. But not a big percentage to the overall build. You won't regret it.

If you get a takeout IRS from a salvage yard, be sure to find one that includes the brakes. The 2015+ calipers are very nice and work much better than the old rear calipers. They are a great option even compared to rear Wilwoods. Since they are for a Mustang anyone who makes high perf brakes has several compound choices that fit.
