Need Help for Door Latch Fix

I'm in the process of installing the door latches, and as soon as I removed the cover, that pressed fitting blew apart. I want to do the permanent fix on both sides now, but I can't find the fix instructions. I remember something about a elevator bolt and eliminating that spring washer. Can someone point me to that Fix Link?
