Anyone have advice on where to buy Cleco fasteners? I know there are a ton of options, but I've never used them before and don't know if any particular source is better than the other, or if there is some to stay away from. Are they "all the same"? Some hold better than others?

Thanks.

I got mine from Amazon. Lots of different kits available. I recommend 30-50 1/8" and 10-20 3/16". Both use the same tool.

Be sure to use the "correct" drill bit sizes:

#30 for 1/8
#11 for 3/16

Here in Canada Aircraft Spruce is cheaper than Amazon.ca.

Check ebay? I found an incredible deal and ended up with way more than I needed. But honestly, you can really never have enough! :D

Along with the clecos, I found these useful for fitting some of the aluminum panels prior to drilling. They're small so they fit where larger clamps wouldn't. They were also useful when I fabricated my center console, cupholders, and speaker boxes. They use the same pliers as the clecos.

Maybe a dumb question, but, you do know that the cleco's are just temporary fasteners, just to hold the panels in place during fitting, right?

I echo the great comments about Mark and Breez. Another good source of high quality sheet metal and sheet metal tools is

Thanks Doug. I don't usually shop on Ebay.. not sure why, but I don't. I'll have a look.
