Cant say I normally take my car to car shows, however a while back a friend asked me to a show that was a fundraiser for kids with heart problems, so I was in. After wandering around checking out the cars and bikes, I returned to find a guy sketching my car.

If you look closely, you will see a mirror in his paint box. Steve sits with his back to the car and uses the mirror to get a low down point of view. It means that his sketch is reversed, but it allows him to get the correct angles without laying down on the ground.

This is the finished sketch:

Steve said he would take his sketch and paint it on a canvas. I thought that sounded pretty cool. A few months passed and I received a call from him to say it was done.

Got to say, I feel very lucky indeed to have had Steve select my car from the crowd. Will take pride of place in my office.

Cheers,

Nigel

Beautiful! His work has a very 'mid century' aesthetic to it, which I love.

Very nice Nigel, and what an interesting method he uses. You know, the reversed image sketch of your car actually looks "right" for those of us who drive on the correct side of the road :p

Cheers,
Jeff
