Bonnet Vents

Hello.

Has anyone out there tried fitting the new FFR GTM Mk2 bonnet vents into a roadster bonnet? Do they fit OK? I think it could like kinda cool :)

Also, do FFR sell these vents separately? I did not see them on the parts site.

They do sell them seperately.

Mark Dougherty fitted them to a challenge car and I have to say, it looked pretty awesome to me. If you are a traditionalist, then it isn't for you. But if you want something that is functionally better then you might want to give it a go.

I heard that it made a significant difference to engine temperature, and the bonnet didn't bend up an inch in the middle at 130mph like it does without the hood vents. The vents are big enough to reduce the underhood air pressure significantly.

I vaguely recall seeing an article with photos in the whats new of the FFR web site.

That has to be a good modification if the non traditional look isn't a issue. I know how much heat moves through the car without being sealed up. I also found how much air pressure was going by the transmission. It blew the cup holders out of the center of the trans cover which were a pretty tight fit.

Jimmy - those aren't the gtm louvres. Those are the maier ones. I saw the car at the 2011 open house. It was a green challenge car.
