I was doing an inventory of my diesel oil supply a couple of days ago, and I found that I needed to re-stock.

Went to my local supply source and none to be found, and when I checked around, my choice of diesel oil ( Rotella T6 ) has suspended production until 4th quarter of 2022........Rotella T6 is currently being sold on some sites for 50-60 bucks per gallon.......Other brands are having the same supply problems.

Luckily, I was able to find enough to re-stock, but just barely.......I am also going to be looking at hoarding a new level of oil for my gasoline engines, since it all comes from the same barrel of crude........Even the synthetics are petroleum based.

Even if you are not a DIY'er, having a reserve supply might help to keep your vehicles maintained during these uncertain times.

I keep my oil stash hidden in my reserve of toilet paper rolls. :D

Weird. Rotella T6 is stacked deep at my local Walmart, at what seems like pretty normal prices. I mostly run T4 15w40-- I paid a few pennies over $14/gallon for it last week.

EDIT: Just checked, and T6 is available today for $23/gallon. If your local store doesn't have it in stock, I bet they will ship it to you for free -- I did that last week with three gallons of Zerex coolant that wasn't on the shelf, and they had it to my door in two days for no extra cost. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-Rotella-T6-Full-Synthetic-15W-40-Diesel-Engine-Oil-1-Gallon/869812640?athbdg=L1200
