NO LONGER FOR SALE. I have an unfinished MK4 I'm gonna sell.

I purchased this MK4 as an unfinished project needing mostly body and paint... the car had been built, mocked up, driven 300 miles but unfinished body and paint.

This is a non donor MK4, crate coyote, TKX 5 speed, IRS, 17" FFR Halibrands with 315s rear, vintage AC, hydro power brakes, power steering, JVC Bluetooth stereo, foot box fans, seat heaters etc... this is a fully optioned build and the car is new, underside and suspension look immaculate.

Frankly it's more than I was looking for, I was looking for a very basic, analog, old school cobra replica, carburetor, 15" wheels etc.

I finished the body and painted the car, Casium blue from Jaguar with white stripes, all BASF base/clear... I did this part because I am in the automotive paint industry and it's what I know how to do... now I've come to the end of my ability

I would actually love to finish the car but I have absolutely zero experience when it comes to electronics, tuning through a computer... just too much technology for me.

The car fires right up and sounds great (I feel the idle is a bit high) everything appears to work except the AC was never charged or plugged in but all new from vintage for this car.

There is a tuner in the car and I was also sent the current tune installed but frankly I have little idea what that all means.

Again the car starts right up, runs and sounds great, shifts, stops all as it should but will need further dialing in and tuning.

I have every part for the car, I truly don't believe there isn't a part that needs to be purchased. I am in the process of wet sanding and buffing (pics are all unbuffed) I also plan on putting the panels/windshield etc on the car.

Single sided chrome roll bar but also have black his and hers, also have full over ridder bumpers with full hoops and have quick jacks too.

Please ask any questions and I have lots of pics from the day I got it and all the way through... also running video.

I would be interested in an "old school" trade or if I could find a good coyote mechanic and tuner local I would pay well to spend some time dialing in the car and would keep it.

Asking $39,900 obo 166816166817166818166819

I have a couple tuners that can tune it in for you. Not a big deal.

Finish it or drop it at Gordon's and have him finish it for you. Well optioned car that would sell for much more finished.

Hello Gordon and thanks, that would be my first choice, assumed it would be easy to find someone for this but I was wrong.
I have to go to California this week but gonna finish buffing and getting the outside assembled when I get back and will reach out... if you know people who would be interested in doing this that would be great.

Thanks again.

I do but it may take a few weeks to get on their dyno, the busy ones are always booked. Give me a call and I will let you know who and you can get an appointment set up. You will also want to borrow my dyno sidepipes.

Thanks Gordon, will reach out when I get back later in the week, don't mind waiting several weeks, would be good just to talk with someone willing to do it.

We have a great community with great people! I bought a few things for a Coupe project from Gordon back in 06’ 07’. Great guy and very knowledgeable!

Good morning, I hope you are enjoying your time off.

Can you share with us who originally built/started this build? Was it another hobbyist or was it started by a builder and the owner took it back before it was completed?
Besides the final touches to paint what is left? Just tuning?
Can you share some suspension and under side of the car pictures?

Good morning, the original builder is who I purchased from (his name is Karl from Maryland) he ordered the entire kit from FFR some years ago, spent some years building, titled, inspected and registered then drove about 300 miles on it.

Had knee replacement early pandemic and never finished the car.
I have about 5 inches of docs, it is non donor with all new items and loaded.
I will do what I can to get underside pics but it all just looks new, no road rash or ugly coatings. I know it's an IRS, wilwood front but other than that I have little details

I'm about to board a plane to head back and will do what I can to get the car up in the air for photos.

Currently looks like this.167176

To all...
Thanks for all the messages, comments and interest, I had as many people telling me to keep it as interested in buying.

I am keeping the car and seeing it to the end, frankly it is pretty much complete and now getting ready to get it to a tuner and dial it in mechanically.

I have been searching for a while how to delete this post but can't find a way.

Again thanks to all, the more the car gets assembled the more I fall in love with it... looking forward to completing and driving it.

Good for you, once things settle down and you bring that beast to Seal Beach you will have to give me a ride.

good on you for keeping it. That thing is way too nice for $40k.

Thanks Tony and was definitely the right decision, glad I'm keeping it, just kept plugging away and now finished (except emblems) next is finding someone to plug in and final tune it.

Thanks to all who convinced me to keep it 167630

I'm glad you decided to keep the roadster. Should be a very fun ride and less finicky than a carbureted sbf.

I suggest you reach out to one of the Forum moderators (David Hodgins (sp?)) and ask that they close this thread. I've seen them do that elsewhere.
