I'm building a lift to store the body of my Roadster while I work on the car below. My kit doesn't arrive until October so I don't have access to the body for measurements.
What I'm looking for is the tallest point of just the body. So imagine sitting the body right on the floor and measuring the tallest point from there. I need this so I can see if I can fit the body/lift mechanism above my garage door when its open. If I can't fit it up there, then my wife's car takes a long vacation to the driveway.
And I guess while we're on the subject, do you know where I might find CAD files for the Roadster? And yes, as I think about it, I should have led with the CAD question first, as with those files I could answer my first question.
Thanks!

Have you thought of building a "body buck on stilts" that would allow the body to "hover" over the chassis for storage. Fitted with casters you could then roll it out of the way onto your driveway to work on your car and then back inside again for storage...

The body buck on stilts makes a lot of sense. The buck plans are available on-line then it's a matter of designing the stilt assembly to pass over the frame.
A friend did this with my buck, worked well for him.
A frame dolly is just as important unless you have the room to work on jack stands and not move the frame.

Right about 29.5". I have 31.5" between my door and the ceiling and it just fit. I used the diagram in the manual to build a body buck but then cut it down so it was shorter than the body, ran 2x4's across the front and rear walls and hooked kayak straps to the end. This allowed me to snug it all the way to the ceiling.

I doubt you'll get CAD files for the roadster, I'm sure FF keeps those pretty tight.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm not able to use the body buck on stilts option. More often than not, there are snow banks outside my garage door (wind piles it there) and in the summer cars are parked there. It does appear I have the space above my doors exactly as pictured by Jeff P.
Thanks!

I've never seen CAD drawings of the Mk4 body and doubt they exist. I believe the body was hand-shaped, as evidenced by the lack of symmetry from side to side. For the purposes of a body buck, there are some drawings in this post (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?24433-Frame-Dolly-and-Body-Buck-Plans-for-the-FFR-MkIV-Roadster&p=307372&viewfull=1#post307372) that I used to shape the front and rear of my buck and they worked well.
