Has anyone run into this problem? The ISC "Idle Air Bypass" solenoid is too high to fit under the hood....Any Suggestions???

Can you clock the throttle body 90 degrees? I’ve never seen an IAC solenoid mounted on the top.

Yes. The throttle body needs to be rotated clockwise 90 degrees.
Do you have a "mass air" version of the Ford fuel injection? If so, you will need the intake tube and a mass air meter. If it's a speed density system, I would be very surprised if it ran well with the air filter mounted directly to the throttle body.

Odd location for the air intake/air cleaner. I've got mine tucked into a cold air box that sits next to the side louvers.

That is clocked wrong, it is on the front.

Yes, it is a Speed Density engine. I mounted the throttle body that way for the convenience of the mustang throttle cable. That can be changed if rotated. Has anyone used a block off plate and eliminated the solenoid? Can't it just be tuned to operate without it?

Without it you’ll likely find that it wants to die when you come off of the throttle and/or it will go into a rolling, hunting idle.

Here are pictures of my set up. The throttle body is rotated 90° clockwise from yours and has a right angle tube running from the TB to the air mass (MAF) and the filter is mounted to the air mass which is sized to match the fuel injectors and computer. The throttle lever is now on the bottom of the TB and my throttle cable runs behind the intake and amounts horizontally to the lever. Hope that helps.166606166607

Thanks...The donor Mustang throttle cable I used is way too short to re-route behind the intake manifold. I used this cable because I liked the built in return spring and connection ball. Could you tell me about the cable you used?

The cable I used is from a 1991 Mustang donor car. It has the built in spring and attachment ball on the end. I also have the pedal box from that same donor car. My car is a, early Mark 1.5.

I got a new throttle cable for a 93 mustang, but it's too short @ 36". For the routing behind the intake manifold, I'll need at least a 42" cable. The days are gone when you could go to the parts store and say, "give me this cable but longer". Without a make and model to look up in their computer, their lost. I'm sure someone on the forum can help me...

My local O'Reilly and Pep Boys both have a couple guys that work the counter that will jump on out take a look under the hood and help find the correct part. They often don't have it but will take the time to find me part numbers of things I can search online for. I often end up at Summit Racing for my actual purchase, but I gotta give a shout out to my locals for be able to match online photos to the part that actually fits.

"Back in the day" when EFI 5.0 builds were prevalent we often used the cable for a 1992 F150 with an EFI 302 (5.0) or 351 (5.8). They are 43ish inches long and also feature an integral return spring.
