I am ready to mount my windshield and just wanted to confirm a couple of things.

I have already trial fitted my side posts through the body to be sure that they pass through the body correctly and sit flush against the frame mount plates.

I am going to cut 2" off each end. Is this correct?

I understand that the angle should be 53 degrees or conversely 33 7/8" from centre top of windshield back to the back cockpit roll and 36 1/4" from the top outside corners vertically to the floor. Is this correct?

Thanks for any help.

53 degrees is correct, especially if you are going to install a convertable soft top with side curtains. Whitbys has installation instructions posted on their web site and clearly shows how the angle is to be measured. The angle is measured on the back edge of the windshield posts relative to the top of the door. The reason that the angle is important is so that the side curtains will close properly against the windshield posts. The driver side post length is not as critical as the passenger side. If the passenger side post is too long it will hit the top of the footbox and you may not be able to adjust the rake properly. If you are never going to install a convertable top the rake angle is not critical.

Make sure that you have the weather strip foam under the body before you mark your mounting holes.

Scott,

If you are talking about the self-adhesive foam that runs up along the sides of the hood front to back then yes I jave that on. All body foam including bulb seal is in place with the exception of the expanding foam that runs down the sides of the footboxes.

Make sure the body fits before mounting the windshield. The windshield has a effect on the body fit and they need to get along.

Finished the install a couple of hours ago and everthing went quite well. Had to adjust one side post and use one shim on the top hole on the driver's side. As noted in the other post the posts do not run in line with the body but I am assuming that this is a design feature?
