After 16 years, I had enough of carburetors. I started with an Edelbrock (total crap), replaced it with a Demon (would stall under hard braking, and finally a Quick Fuel (cold and hot natured and would leak fuel into the intake after engine was off.

I did some homework and got some good advice from Scott Evans at www.efisystempro.com, and decided on the Holley Terminator X Stealth 4150. I wanted to have the ECU control the spark too, so I also went with a Sniper HyperSpark distributor. I had a mechanical fuel pump, so I had to also replace all the fuel plumbing.

One other major task was replacing the headers. I had FFR 4 into 4 headers that fed my relatively new Gas-N stainless steel side pipes. There is absolutely no room for an O2 sensor in the side pipes. I ordered a set of Gas-N stainless headers with the pivot collector with an O2 bung. Note: the band clamp on the pivot collector will not be enough to hold the side pipes in place, so you'll have to have them tack welded to keep everything in place after you get it all lined up.

Since my water temp port on the intake was already occupied by my existing sensor for the fan and temp gauge, I had to drill and tap the intake near the thermostat housing for a new sensor for the fan and gauge, freeing up the existing port for the new EFI temp sensor.

I also did a LOT of integrating/rewiring/customizing of the provided Holley harnesses (two for the EFI and one for the spark box. With space being so limited under our hoods and the harnesses being designed to accommodate even the largest of Detroit iron, I took all the looms apart, removed stuff I didn’t need, shortened/lengthened several wires to make it perfect for my car.

I mistakenly mounted the spark box right next to the ECU (supposed to be a no-no for electro magnetic and radio frequency interference), so I made an aluminum shield and mounted it around the CD box and the solution turned out perfectly. The data logs show no interference at all.

Scott at www.efisystempro.com (https://www.efisystempro.com) is so the man! He fielded a ton of emails and provided quality feedback and advice. I’m so glad I went through EFI System Pro instead of ordering from Amazon or Summit Racing. Scott also has reviewed my datalogs and provided global setup files that have made a huge change to the way my car runs.

By the seat of my pants, this EFI system is making a substantial amount of additional power. My power band has definitely changed/improved. The ability to push my start button and have the engine actually start, no matter how hot or cold the engine might be is priceless (I wish, it was closer to $4200).

Here’s what I used:
TERMINATOR X STEALTH 4150, SHINY 550-1001
SNIPER EFI STEALTH 4150 BRAIDED FUEL CROSSOVER KIT 534-236
SNIPER 340 LPH FUEL PUMP MODULE 12-345
SNIPER EFI HYPERSPARK IGNITION COIL 556-152
SNIPER EFI HYPERSPARK DISTRIBUTOR 565-302
SNIPER EFI HYPERSPARK CD IGNITION BOX 556-151
Terminator to HyperSpark Distributor Adptr Harness 558-323

Very nice! I'm actually considering removing the Ford EFI for one of these setups as I would personally rather have the nostalgic look of the carb, the Ford EFI just doesn't look right to me when I pop the hood.

You might want to look int the Edelbrock PRO Flo 4 system. I switched from the Mass- flo (basically The Ford 5.0 system) that I used for about 16 years. It is amazing how much my car woke up! Cold starts warm up, idle cruising -everything is much better. The system comes complete, less the fuel delivery, return and fuel pump. The manifold with rails and injectors and sensors, distributor, harness, control unit and other small parts.I installed everything, did a small setup on the wireless pad (included in the kit) and started it right up. the system self learns. I made only 2 minor adjustments after about 150 miles, idle speed and Fuel cut off settings. I couldn't be more satisfied with this system. It runs about $2000 any needed fuel system changes.

You'll love the stealth, doesn't suffer from a lot of the EMI\RFI issues of the sniper. Efisystempro guys rock, can't beat the service. They spent hours with my trying to get a <$10 progressive linkage to work!
