We have no idea when our steering rack and power steering will arrive. Will we regret it if we go ahead and install our SBC engine now? Can the steering components and rods be added with the engine already mounted? I don't mind working in tight spaces, but I certainly don't want to have to pull the engine to do that work.
Thanks for any help you can give on this.

I installed the Uni-Steer EPS and steering shafts in my Gen I '33 with my Coyote in place without any difficulty. I wouldn't expect there to be any problems getting everything in working around a (physically smaller) SBC. Also, it looks like there is plenty of clearance to get the rack installed with the engine in place, although I haven't tried that myself.

I have SBC in mine. You will have no problems with Steering rack install afterwards. I removed & reinstalled my sterering rack afterwards to clearcoat.

What kind of headers are you planning on using with your SBC?

Flowtech 11704 Ram Horns. We're planning on installing them after the engine is in. Does that make sense?

Yes, there is tons of space to install headers after engine is set.
