So I had a tough time this weekend with my pedal box bracket and front LCA's. The angle of the back wall of the pedal box bracket was way off... I mean way off. I had to manipulate it about 20 degrees and that was no easy task. That would have not been an issue, but the same day, my front LCA holes would not line up with the bolts. Two production issues in one day! that was frustrating and so time consuming. My question is, are these issues normal? I figured it all out... but what a struggle on my first two build tasks!! UGH

"Normal" to have to tweak parts occasionally? Sure. But this is a bit subjective. One person's normal tweak is another person's bad experience. A lot is about expectations I think. As is often said, these aren't snap together kits. But I wouldn't say your two out of two experience is normal. The Roadster kit especially is pretty well sorted out. Not unusual to have to adjust the tabs for the suspension parts. Without more details, don't know if your experience fits the usual pattern. 20 degrees off on a bend is indeed a lot. Not questioning your situation, but would want to make sure it's being installed correctly. One piece of advice. My experience is that when things are way off it's often because I'm doing something wrong, installing improperly, not following instructions, etc. Reaching for a bigger hammer (never encouraged anyway IMO) or cutting tools should be the last resort. Not the first. Learned that lesson the hard way multiple times.

on all the suspension mounting points. Do yourself a favor take a dremel on the mounting holes in the frame and grind off the powdercoat then use a little bit of chassis grease and rub it in there before installing the bolts. This will help it go to together easier and still keep it rust free. I actually had a little bit of weld splatter in my lower mounting holes I had to grind out.

Adding pics showing the issues you're having helps everyone get a better understanding of that's wrong. Be it the person helping to find a solution or someone having the same issue, looking for an answer. Just a thought. Good luck in your build. I know I really enjoyed mine.

We didn't have the pedal box issue, but our front LCAs (especially the DS) were a challenge. Double checked everything before "persuading" it a bit to get into place. Was still very careful not to bend or damage anything... especially the LCA bushings. When the fight was over, everything checks out and functions flawlessly... just a lot more struggle than I saw in FFR build video. :)

I had tough time getting my pedal box to sit flush until I figured out how to correctly insert it. I think I had to try some different angles to get it to sit correctly but didn't need to bend anything to fit. The LCA tabs on the other hand are a different story.

Yes, I should have taken pictures but in short, the bracket was angled at 90 degrees making the bracket point downward. There was no way to get the second bracket onto the 1/2" rails. I went onto the forum and looked at many videos, pictures, etc. I think the guy running the bending brake on this just went too far. Installing these today and so far, it's a good fit. Pictures later.
Thanks everyone.

The kits, although overall all well constructed, are not Plug & Play!
I was a novice builder and was surprised by some of the difficulties I encountered. Most of it was lack of experience.
The best advice (I learned) was to be patient and enjoy the problem solving. There will be plenty of need for both.
In the end the build experience was very satisfying. You are beginning to understand why everyone is so proud of their build journey.
