Too bad, they always have a really good expo going on. But what they did looked expensive and you know Ford they only go big or go home.

This will be a huge change. Aside from last year when they and many other decided to skip due to covid related circumstances they have had such a strong presence.

My buddy also told me the major paint manufactures got together and they've decided that they will not attend also.

No reason to pump advertising dollars when can't produce what you already sold. You advertise to generate more sales. But when you are maxed out you shouldn't be spending those dollars. I suspect to see more things like this in the coming months until the supply chain normalizes and dealers have regular stock again that they want to move.

I think that most manufacturers and industries are finally realizing that trade shows don't actually generate that much revenue. They're just big, costly boondoggles.

That's what I read also. Even Dave will tell you it's not a big income generator but if you understand what SEMA is about (it's not open to the public), it's supposed to be about training, meeting other business in the industry and promoting the aftermarket not selling. In fact, if you go almost everyone isn't actively selling anything. There are deals to be had, but selling stuff isn't a big part of most of SEMA.
