It seems when I search this subject most people are looking for no weld options. I guess I am the odd ball.

I don't have my kit yet and I'm trying to gather every last piece I will need. I don't like the FFR wheel or hub. I will be using dash mounted horn and turn signals, so this should be easy.

I assume the steering shaft is 3/4" DD? Does anyone have a weld on quick release for popular 6 bolt patterns that they like? This is all I've found...

I use one of these my bracket car:

Very well made with smooth precision tolerances. You may notice that the steering wheel will only go on in one position. And, easy release from the steering wheel being clocked in any position.

I've used others in the past, but really like these the best.

That's the wheel I was considering as well. I have an ididit column in my Comet that has taken a lot of abuse, so I like your suggestion all around. Thanks!

Also, I did not use the FFR-supplied shaft- I simply bought a new one (18" x 3/4" double-D)- cheap and I can swap in the FFR wheel/shaft in about 5 mins if I want to.
