Custom Dash Pad Plug

I finished the plug for the upper dash pad. It now fits the instrument panel surround. All I have to do now is paint it and make the mold. With it's complex shape, it looks like it will be a three part mold.

The upper dash has defroster vents and a opening to see the VIN of the vehicle in the standard location. The final piece will be covered with a thin layer of high density and then covered with vinyl.

Looks very good but also alot of work Ron. I have no idea how you can keep yourself focused and motivated...Oxide must be helping you along...keep going :) Thanks for the updates.

Over the weekend, I make the mold for the dash pad. I took four steps as the mold is made up of six pieces. When making a mold, you have to think on how the final piece can be remove. Depending on the shape, you might need to have multiple pieces for the mold. Previous to this, the most pieces that I needed was two.
