I received this email this morning as we have a fire in our area, but fortunately far South of where we are. I have never had an insurance company reach out to me like this, makes me happy that I am with them.

This is who I have my build policy with through USAA. I'll use them once the vehicle is moving!

AAA reached out to me yesterday, unfortunately the Tunnel Fire came through my property so I have a claim started. Fire spread so fast in the 70+ MPH winds that we barely escaped with our horses but couldn't save the other critters. Fire had engulfed several out buildings, one tractor, and at the door of my shop and was at the back of the house when we bugged out. 100' flames and heavy smoke / ash. Neighbor's house was burnt to the ground so I'm expecting the same once the fire is out. AAA has been great to work with, very responsive and are already searching for long-term rental horse property and pushed some $$ to our bank for immediate needs. On the other hand, haven't seen that kind of service from Farmers (commercial truck insurance) or Hagerty (classic car insurance) but I'll call them once I can get into the property and take photos.

Just another one of life's challenges to deal with. Gotta take the bad with the good.

Sorry to hear that. Glad you were able to get out. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that Naz and glad you are not physically harmed. I have to remind my family all the time that insurance is for these situations. Stuff can be replaced people cannot.

As long as no one was hurt. Things can be replaced. Lost a home in a hurricane once, so I get it.

So sorry to hear about the fire damage and lost animals. I hope you got lucky and your house is still standing.
