View Full Version : Thinking Hard about moving my 37 to buy FFR

Currently have an all Mopar 37 Plymouth coupe and possibly looking to send it down the road to free up funds for a FFR 33 Hot Rod or 35 Hot Rod Pickup. Thing is I am a die hard Mopar guy so no way I would build one and drop in a small block Chevy or Ford. It would have to have a 360 Magnum or a Gen III Hemi.
Question is has anyone here built either of these and powered them with a Mopar? Would FFR customize a kit by excluding the engine mounts / driveshaft etc that are specific to the Chevy/Ford?
This is my current 37, so I would have to think hard about moving it and be pretty comfortable that things would go right before pulling the trigger. 165740

Cool car you have. I haven’t got a kit yet but I understand the speedstar pictured in the 33 gallery has a gen 3 hemi. Talk to FFR, they can help you out.

The only current build with a Hemi that I'm aware of is Erik Treves' Speedstar "Beta Prototype" build: https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?41650-Hemi-Powered-SPEEDSTAR-in-the-HOUSE!
There have been others built in the past with various generations of Hemi power, but I haven't noticed any recent activity. I would suggest doing a search for "Hemi" on the "Engine & Transmission - 33 HotRod" and the " Build Threads - 33 HotRod" sub-threads to find more examples. Also, calling FFR tech support may be productive - in my experience they are very helpful.

I highly suggest you find someone with a 33 that you can sit in and possibly go for a ride before pulling the trigger. It is very different from your current ride.

I applaud your choice of motor.

You will note that on the '33 HR config sheet there is now a gen 3 Hemi option, so yes you can do a Mopar powered FFR. As noted above, its tougher to find relevant build threads so far
