Hi all,
I have got a little carried away with the body and started the process of adding polyester primer to it, etc.

The problem is that I'm not ready to actually spray it with a colour as yet, in-fact I still cant decide what colour to go with.

Anyway, do I need to seal the primer with anything, or can I just leave it primed and then paint it in a few months time when I get to that stage?

If I need to seal it, then what do I use?

thanks
Phil

Yes, seal it. Primer is porous and will trap dirt, moisture and contaminates within it's surface if left open. Seal it and when ready to paint, clean the surface, sand out the sealer, reseal and paint.

Hi,

thanks for the reply, what do I use to seal it with? Is there a product that is easy to sand off when needed :)

cheers
Phil

Why even primer it until you're ready to paint?
Not like it's going to rust if you leave the body exposed.

Not like it's going to rust if you leave the body exposed.

In the UK we have to pass a special test (IVA) to get it registered, which incudes radius checks on the exterior, as well as a whole load of other things.
So I started on the seams, etc, then got carried away :)

Now I just need to find out what I can use as a sealer and I will be OK,

thanks
