Hi
Before starting to reinvent the wheel, I wonder if anyone designed a “saddle” or brackets to install a shifter on a Ford AOD transmission. I have a Hurst Pro-Matic shifter and like most of the shifters I looked at are designed to bolt to a steel tunnel or floor. Our tunnel cover is fiberglass and no floor over the transmission.
I looked at forum posts as far back #20 and no one else seems to have had this issue. What am I missing?
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

Don't know how much it helps since mine is a GM transmission with a Lokar shifter. But had the same issue, e.g. nothing with the frame or transmission cover to mount the shifter. I made a plate that attaches at the front and put a big u-bolt around the back. It's rock solid. FWIW. Described and shown in this post from my build thread. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?37287-EdwardB%92s-35-Hot-Rod-Truck-Build-Doors-and-Windows&p=443450&viewfull=1#post443450

Lokar have a line of case mount hot rod shifters that mount to the side bosses on the transmission and the tail shaft housing.

I have one on my 37 with a 4L60E that fits and works well, very solid, but not cheap. You could always give them a call and see if they would just sell you the bracket and/or fab up your own mount?

Here's a link to the installation instructions if that helps. Scott

Thank you for the info.
Although my unit is different your setup gives me a good idea of how to make a couple of brackets to set mine up.

Thanks
If I can't set mine up I like the looks of the Lokar unit
