The suspension components are the same as those used on the MK-4 Roadster and 289 FIA.
The MK-4 and FIA use the same frame; however, the Type-65's frame is totally different.
In addition, the wheelbase of the Type-65 is 5" longer than their open top brothers.

The roadster trunk floor is different when comparing this photo spread to the build threads -- notably those build threads with the drop trunk kit from Russ Thompson and dealing with the diagonal bracing.
Is this an early version of the mk4?

Yes, those photos are of an early Mk4. The trunk configuration and construction was changed several months after it was introduced and reverted to more like the Mk1, 2 and 3.

To repeat a little what others have posted, the current Mk4 Roadster and Gen 3 Coupe are totally different frames. Roadster = ladder frame with 4-inch tubes. Gen 3 Coupe = space frame. Previous Coupes were somewhat similar to the Roadster but never interchangeable. But as of the Gen 3 Coupe, completely redesigned. The new space frame is stiffer and provides more room throughout, e.g. engine bay, transmission, cockpit, etc. As stated, they share most of the same suspension components.
