Four years ago today my wife gave me a fantastic birthday gift. She gave a complete Roadster kit, but more than a kit she gave me a journey. It’s been filled with opportunities to learn about the things we take for granted every time we turn the key. I’ve learned how to build a car from the frame up and I have a much better understanding of how it all works. I received great advice from vendors like Mark Reynolds and Mike Forte as well as the continued support I get from the forum members. I’m sure I would be lost without this.

The car is an MK3.1 complete kit with all new parts except for the long block. Major highlights are as follows:
Explorer motor with a carburetor conversion
Enlarged driver and passenger foot-boxes
Dead pedal with dimmer switch
Keyless ignition with starter button and remote battery isolation relay
Heater and seat heaters
Wipers
Kirkey seats
Damplifier and EZ Cool insulation everywhere
Custom glove box
Custom dash and dash extension
Storage box under floor in trunk
Carpet in trunk
3rd brake light

I owe all this to my wife. She sacrificed the time and money to make this happen. She’s the best.

It all started with this.

Congrats on a great job. Your dash and console is one of the best I've seen because it was carefully designed. The curve of the gauges, indcator lights, console switches and glove box all complement the overall look. And, great color inside and out. For those looking for dash layouts, look here!

Beautiful build. Great color scheme and interior. People on the outside looking in just think about the car, but those of us building or who have built know that it is really a small part of the experiance. They don't see the real work, family and friendships developed during this journey. Congrats brother!

Absolutely awesome. That brings tears to my eyes (not just the car, the story). You're wife is really special! Mine asked for a divorce the day before my roadster arrived on the truck. LOL

You are a rocks throw away from me so I'm looking forward to seeing this in person, and maybe making a new friend. ;-)
