I got some flare nuts along with my CuNi brake line from Amazon, and while the stuff is advertised for 3/16” brake lines, the threads don’t fit my existing parts. I picked up a Dorman #785-460D at the local parts store, same problem. Must be some metric thread? While I was at it, I also grabbed some that were specifically marked as 3/8”-24 thread (AGS part #BLF-12C-5) which do fit, but they’re steel. Not sure I should be mixing the two metals? Would appreciate some pointers here.

Web searches suggest mixing brass and steel should be fine. Fingers crossed.

I think pretty much all flare nuts are steel.

CuNi lines are an alloy of copper, nickel an iron. Zero issue using steel fittings

I have purchased my flare nuts and NiCu line from Fedhill USA. They sell both SAE and Metric components. The NiCu line is high quality and the flare nuts are inexpensive to buy in quantity. I sourced my brake line, flare nuts and unions from them for my MK4 and my current project. A good source for parts and line should you need it.
