View Full Version : Anyone have a good source for the little clips that hold the headlight trim in place?
I found a few old threads, but no links to where to get these clips. I need a few for the passenger headlight as it appears they all snapped and the only thing holding the trim on is the screw in the bottom.

I had two issues with mine. One, they were very flimsy, and two, because of the 'clocking' of the holes in the body, the headlight lens was rotated off by a few degrees. I could have taken them all out and re-drilled the body holes so that the headlights were clocked correctly, but I decided to make my own clips, with an offset hole to align the headlight properly. They are much stronger than the original clips. (I have LED headlights.)

I have some sitting around, Dave, but those things are crap! I broke one just putting my hand on the car at the trim ring area, snapped like glass. I also didn’t like the way the PL-700 lights set in the the trim ring, so I made my own:

Oh, wait, I just realized you meant different clips than I was thinking. Anyway, you can make the Lucas headlights set in the trim ring a little better if you haven’t already.
Thanks, Bradley. It's these little buggers that I need:

I just ordered 10 of them from Holden. We'll see how long it takes them to get here from England.

That is not one of the three retainers to hold the two pieces that hold the bulb. That is the retainer for the ring that goes outside of the bulb I believe.

Exactly. Thats what I tried to describe in my post. It's tough when you don't know what the part is called. :o

Why do you need a few of those for one headlight? There's only one of those clips per headlight.

I haven't had the trim ring off in a couple of years. I wasn't going to order just one or two, so I'll have a stash for the darn things break down the road. That is if I can remember where I put them.

Hahaha
I just bought a bright green iPhone case because it seems at least once a day I set it down and then have no idea where I left it 10 minutes later.
