So have a weird one today was setting up my parking brake cables and realized that one side (passenger) was working fine but the drivers side is operating backwards??
I used the stock brakes out of the 2015 Pull out stock rear IRS I got.

I Pull ebrake cable and and it releases the pads?, let go and it clamps down... weird.
I had disassembled/reassembled both rear calipers a while ago to paint
and thought I had put back together correctly but obviously something is amiss... grrr.
I feel like it must be something simple I am missing.

I am thinking maybe when I screwed the calipers (Piston) in on the drivers side maybe I went the wrong direction ?
I think I went righty tighty on the piston on both sides.
Do the pass/drivers side pistons need to be tightened in opposite directions?
One video I saw (Not for mustang brakes) seem to "imply" this but did not clarify.

Think I may try to back the piston out tomorrow and see if I can then go the other direction tightening it back down.
Will post some pics tomorrow but if somebody knows what is up would appreciate it.

Also as a side note notice a little bit of play (Seems like the brake disc is moving a little) in both the rear wheels when I bolted them on.
I have not tightened the axle nuts down yet so thinking this is why have that.

Does the other side work correctly? Seems odd that when operating the ebrake arm on the caliper that it would release the pads. That is definitely weird. Are these new parts or donors?

Yeah it is weird makes no sense
Was a salvage IRS (2015) - I never checked this before tearing it apart

I had totally disassembled the calipers previously to paint and thought I had put back together correctly (installed new seals/orings etc during reassembly)

Like I said Passenger side works fine (Pull clamps, release & brakes release)

It is the drivers side that is acting like it is all "backwards"

Been googling trying to figure it out before I start tearing the calipers apart because that job is defiantly not fun.

Have you checked where the two cables come together, at the clevis pin? It almost sounds like the two cables are pivoting against each other.

On my Wilwood's, the parking brake spring can be clocked. Is it possible you've got the spring installed so that it pulls when it should push?

My guess is when you took them apart you must have put the mechanism together backwards? When you pull the lever it works like a screw. If you maybe put it back together upside down it would work the other way? It's the only thing that makes sense to me
