All,
Just ran into a connector on the Ron Francis harness that had the wrong pin wired. I am just getting things ready to start my MKIV for the first time and the fuel pump wasn't turning on. Checked continuity in several places and connected 12V to the pump just to make sure it was running. As I got into it I noticed no continuity through the inertia switch to the fuse box. Checked the switch, all good, but then looked at the connector and sure enough, the outside pin of the 3 pin connector was on the wrong side.
Anybody else seen this?
And FYI to others that this could have happened on other harnesses. Easy thing to happen during the harness build.

Can you add any pics?

Can you add any pics?
I'll get pics when I get home later today.

Had a similar thing with the RF harness. On the fan relay, the small red wire was feeding the fan instead of triggering the relay. Glad I caught it while doing the wiring.

Had the same issue, if I built another one I would use a painless 12-20 circuit generic hotrod harness. This was my fuel pump harness connector (https://photos.app.goo.gl/uydRwUBYiDeLdkmU8) on the ron francis.

For electrical dummies like me a pre-made harness seems like the easy button. If it contains mistakes and we have to track them down, not so much!

Not sure if/when they fixed the wiring diagrams, but in 2017, if you followed the instructions it eliminated the inertia switch. And yes, sometimes the harness is pinned wrong. Happens more than it should. My front turn signal wires were switched.

See pic below. The green arrow shows where the wire should be and the red arrow shows where it should not be. I need to amend my previous statement. The middle wire was the one installed incorrectly. The wires should be in the outside pins to match the correct position of the inertia switch.

Good catch, thanks for sharing!

My first start was nerve-racking, the Ron Francis harness(2008) had the oil pressure and the water temp wires reversed. I had no oil pressure or water temp indicated! Switched them and problem solved!
