I am installing the FF provided power rack and have a question. Is there supposed to be another set of bushings inside of the ones installed on the rack? There are 2 bushings in the hardware kit, but they don't fit into the rack and the ID is too tight for the 1/2" bolts. I have a lathe that I can modify them to work. The parts list shows 2 steering rack spacers, 2.45", and I think that is what these bushings are.

You need to take the bushings out of the rack and replace with the 4 black FFR bushings and steel sleeves.
Mike.

Thanks for replying. I don't have any FFR black bushings. There were none included with the kit and none listed on the parts list.

For sanity check... my kit was the same way. I was working on mounting the power steering rack yesterday and noticed the weirdness between the manuals instructions and the parts provided. I noticed new sleeves in the steering parts bag with no bushings. The rack unit itself had bushings and sleeves mounted already. Fortunately for me I didn't have to think about it beyond that because I had ordered the breeze rack offset bushings. They allow you to center the rack perfectly in the frame with small twisting actions of the bushings when mounted loosely. Mine will likely be just a street car only so I'm not sure if I really needed the extra precision but I heard a number of my buddies complain about bump steer in their jeeps(I know... not the same). My mind always goes back to those conversations and thinking about the addition of hitting an uneven surface at much faster speeds in one of these cars.
