Thought I would put my thoughts out there for a little feedback

I have a FFR 33 hotrod, I do love the car but considering selling for a cobra (roadster) and maybe looking to get a little feedback to help with my decision.

I have had muscle cars my whole life and a couple Vipers over the past several years.

I sold my last Viper for a 33 hotrod purchase as I wanted to be able to get creative with something and do my own things without hurting the value... also wanted to be able to drive and put miles on something again without really hurting value.

I picked up a nice hotrod, loaded, with hardtop, power windows, heat and AC, bicycle fenders LS/6L80 drive train etc... again love the car, fun to drive but considering selling for roadster as I've always loved the cobra.

I wanted a loaded car for the comforts, variety and tunes but realizing I'm gonna be driving the 33 topless most of the time (never put the tops on the Vipers in all the years)

Still unsure as I haven't even started physically looking at roadsters just wanted to get some thoughts from anyone who may have owned both.

Hey Golfer,

Find someone near your area with a MK-4 and get him to take you for a ride.

> My pal Dave has a Gen-2 33 Hot Rod while I have a Dark Side MK-4.
> Both cars make over 460 HP and my pal is running an automatic while I'm running a 6-Speed.
> The Cobra is louder, snottier and a heck of lot twitchier because the wheelbase is so short.
> The Cobra is a lot louder than the 33 and earplugs are needed to keep your ears in check.

If you find yourself near New Orleans, contact me so I can take you for a ride.

Why did you buy the Viper? The answer would be the same reason(s) to get a Roadster. Do you miss the Viper? Do you miss having your hair on fire (assuming you have hair)? If the answer is yes to both of those, then the Roadster is for you!

OBVIOUSLY the hot rod is cooler :D

j/k, I love them both. I had a non-FFR Cobra when I first got to the states in '98 and it was a lot of fun. Ideally you have both, right? I love my hot rod. It's raw, noisy, smelly, stiff and uncomfortable. Perfect.

I've semi-jokingly told my wife I'm done selling cars now. Every one we get from now on is on top of the ones we own. LOL. To sweeten the deal the next may be a 356 for her.

Thanks guys, getting a ride in one is just what I'm gonna do, we have a weekly cruise night with a few cobras.

I do miss the raw drive of the Vipers both being Gen 1 and Gen 2... frankly I purchased Vipers because of my love for cobras.

I do love the 33 and just painted it, got it looking the way I want but thinking I maybe should have gone the cobra route.

Gonna go look at a few and at the least get a ride in one before making a decision and pulling any trigger.

Thanks again guys 164472164473

Going from a hot rod to a roadster? Build a bigger garage and have both. Because you can't have too many toys.

Oh I would love to have both and frankly I would have the garage room, there would be plenty of space where my wife's car once was ;-)

Having built and owned both (4 roadsters, GTM, Daytona coupe and finally a 33) The hot rod is easier for an old guy to get in an out. It's quieter, easier to drive and the seats/legroom is more comfortable for a big guy. Both (all of them actually) are great builds and fun to drive.
