Second race of the endurance season is this weekend at Fontana. 3 hour race. Driver will be Tommy McCarthy.

Not the result we wanted.
Started 10th and Tommy moved up to 6th on the green flag and before turn 3. Car was great through the infield and by the end of the first lap he was running 4th.
Unfortunately we did not have a tall enough gear as we topped out at 158 MPH. Tommy was still holding his own when the right rear tire went down slowly. We changed a tire and he went back out in 25th.
Again, unfortunately, the engine lost oil pressure about an hour and 20 minutes into the event and we parked the car.
This engine has more then two seasons on it and we have two other new engines here in the shop so this will not stop us for the next race, which will be at Auto Club Speedway again, on June 11th. This time it will be a 4 hour and we should do well at that race. The longer the race is, the more our fuel load plays to our advantage. This race where the engine had issues was to be the last race on that engine anyway, but I just hope the top end is salvageable.
