So I know this is a question with 1000 answers.

I'm looking for a seat setup that will give the most leg room, and allow my torso to be as far back as possible. I'm 6'-0", but I tend to sit further back than a lot of people (longer legs, longer arms).

I ordered some Corbeau RRX seats, and while they WILL work in the car, they won't work for me :(. The primary reason being that they must be mounted further forward that the seatbelt anchors, and there's NO way that they will fit "between" the anchors.

From my measurements, a seat (at the rear) must be less than 17" in order to fit between the anchors, and maximize the rearward most seating position. This presents a problem, as I'm not finding a lot of seats that would accommodate that dimension (and/or the dimensions given by manufacturers don't show that dimension as any different from the FRONT width - even thought I KNOW it's more narrow at the back end of the seat). Does anyone have suggestions on seats that would fit between the existing belt mounting points? extra points if you have pictures! In the FF marketing photos, the Kirkey seats seem to be literally up against the rear shoulder seatbelt bar. That's where I WANT it to be..... but I'm questioning if FF had the mounting points even installed at that point. Very possible that the pictures are optimistic....

If not - has anyone widened the seatbelt mounting points by cutting them off and re-welding new (wider, or further to the rear) ones?

It would be SO COOL if there was a "seats" spreadsheet like the "wheel & tire" one....... Then again I'm kind of a geek.

Yes, if you're sure the belt anchor points will be in the way, just cut them off and relocate them.
I would be the seat back will hit the roll cage cross bars before those belt anchors come into play.
Best bet is to just deal with having to bend your knees and elbows when driving!

The Kirkey Series 55 Drag-Seats or their Vintage Low-Backs will work.

The 17" wide seats are the best option for the MK-4 roadsters.

If I were shopping for seats, I'd narrow it down to a handful that worked for me in all the other aspects, then call each manufacturer to request the spec needed (rear width).

Ah, who am I kidding, I have a welder now! I'd just cut the tabs off and weld them back on with wider spacing. Remember the tabs can't be flush with the cockpit walls though, because you need to attach some type of hardware to them. Bolted joint, eyelet, or harness clip attachment. Guessing about an inch of space between the tab and the panel it is closest to would be about right.

I'd be happy to make a Gen3 Coupe seat spreadsheet in addition to the Wheel and Tires one, but I would need LOTS of data from lots of people. Unfortunately it's not nearly as straightforward to measure seats as it is wheels and tires, which have hard specs you can't really get wrong.

My passenger seat is out right now, but it's getting reinstalled in about 2 hours to prep for an autocross tomorrow. If you need measurements, let me know ASAP and I'll take some measurements/pictures for you.

Tillett seats. I had a similar situation with my 818 seating position and ended up sourcing a Tillett seat which in its basic form has no padding, but due to its ergonomic shape, is very comfortable without padding. Padding is available tho but it is very thin. So, having a thin seatback allows me to sit further back and lower if necessary.

For comfort, I like the Ultrashield road racing seat. I like it better than the Kirkey, because the side bolsters are a little smaller; and that makes it easier to get in and out of. Comes with a padded cover. And it's easy to add additional padding where you want it. This is easily a 4 hour seat for me. Who sits in a Cobra for more than 4 hours? :)

I have a Kirkey Spec Miata seat in my race car. I like that a lot, too. And I think it would fit in the Cobra a bit better. The Drag seat is very similar.
