Looks like they recently updated their schedule with August and September classes. Many seats still available.

Honestly I'm on the fence. On one hand, it would be a really beneficial way to see how the Roadster goes together before I take delivery of mine. On the other hand, it's about $2000 all in (class, travel, hotel, rental car, meals, etc...) that gets weighed against putting that money into the Roadster.

Take this advice with the proverbial grain of salt. FWIW, I thoroughly enjoyed, and learned a good deal from Todd and Scott at Mott. However, door to door for me was only a four hour drive. Add to that, I had a bunch of hotel rewards points that covered the room. So all in for me was about $150 for gas and grub plus the cost of the school minus the FFR rebate. That made it a pretty simple decision for me.

If I had it to do over given my circumstances I would do it in a heart beat. If I had to shell out 2k for the experience I’m thinking that that would be a bit too rich for my blood. I will say that when I attended build school, there were several guys there that travelled across the country to get there and in one case, a guy from the left coast brought his two sons with him. He likely had close to 5 grand wrapped up in the deal. But, he did say at the end of the program that it was well worth it for the learning and the time spent with his kids.

Hope this helps……Greg

Think of it this way: you can make a mistake in your own build that requires you to undo and redo, or you can _start_ to make that mistake during the build school and get corrected rightaway.

Spending $1500sh to get better for a project that'll likely cost $50k is totally worth it. A 3% fee for learning.

You guys have a good point. I'm still on the fence, to be honest. If I did go it'll be closer to the September/October time frame, mainly to feel some cooler weather.

Plus Factory Five offers a discount if you attend the class. My daughter and I attended the class and it was well worth it. She picked up on things during the class and reminded me of them during our build. Take many photos and notes of areas you think you are going to have problems. They came in handy during our build
